Fremont Tribune (Fremont, Nebraska) 09 Jan 1945, Tue Page 8 Mrs. Hines Dies at Morse Bluff Home Mrs. Katherine Cherny Hines, 73, of the Morse Bluff community, died at 3:40 p.m. Monday at her home. She had been in failing health since April. Surviving are her husband, Frank, and three children, Edward and Albert of Morse Bluff; Mrs. Anton Hobza of Colon, one brother, James Cherny, Sr., of North Bend and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Hines was born Oct. 26, 1871 in Cernikovje, Czechoslovakia. At the age of one she came to America with her parents, who settled near Linwood. On April 11, 1893 she was married to Frank A. Hines of Morse Bluff. After farming a few years in the community she and her husband moved to town where they operated a grocery store. They later went into the hardware business and then returned to farming for 12 years, retiring in 1921. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the home with Rev. Phillipi of Clarkson officiating. Burial will be in the Killian cemetery.
