Bio

Salida Mail 17 Dec 1947 His obituary says he lost his life in an fatal accident Tuesday afternoon. He came to Salida in 1922 as manager of the Snodgrass Store. He had previously been assoicated with the Standard Oil Co., of Kansas City, MO. He was an outstanding musician and directed the city band for several years. He also organized a city orchestra. On April 22, 1907 he and Miss Gelia Waters were united in marriage at Emporia, Kan. Two children were born of the union. They are Mrs. Naomi Rosette, of Salida, and Hurbert Ewing, of Pasadena, CA. Besides his wife and children he is survived by two brothers A.M. and A.L. Ewing of Pattansburg, MO., four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
