Bio

Leona LaVon Schmidt. 48, a resident of Guernsey, Wyo., died suddenly at her home on Sunday, April 2, 1967. She was born in Pauline, Nebraska on April 24, 1918. On June 16, 1940, she was married to Ernest E. Schmidt at Smith Center, Kans. Mrs. Schmidt had lived in Guernsey for the past eight years, previously living in Lingle, Wyoming. Preceding her in death were one son, Jimmy; one brother, Harold; one sister, Betty Maxine Mau; and one grandson, Ronald Gene Parrish. She is survived by her husband; three sons, William of Guernsey, Vaughn of Harbor City, Calif., and Mitchell, who is in the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs. Fern Parrish and Shirley Schmidt both of Guernsey; two brothers, Floyd Baker of Bladen, and Guy Baker of Blue Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Hager, Mrs. Jessie Kissler, and Mrs. Margaret Lighthill all of Hastings, and Mrs. Dorothy Reiman of Bladen; and eight grandchildren. Services were held at the Schradel Chapel in Wheatland on April 6 with Pastor Dale Scheffler officiating. Burial was in the Wheatland Cemetery.
