Bio

John Henry Arnold and Ida Isabell Shaver Arnold lived at the top of the hill on Double S Rd near the Salem Baptist Church. They donated property from their farm for the Salem Church parsonage. They had eight children and in addition to those buried here in the Second Shaver Cemetery, they had Gordon Virgil Arnold (7 July 1908-December 1987) who is buried in Dalton, Georgia, where he lived and died. Uncle John Arnold was the Superintendent of the Salem Church Sunday School. Some of the Shaver children had to walk past Aunt Ida and Uncle John's house to get to Sunday School. When you walked through their yard, Aunt Ida always called out to you in her sweetest voice, giving us encouragement, which made us walk faster to get to Sunday School.
