Bio

Olin was a "diamond in the rough". He was a farmer, soldier, and mortician, but a friend to everyone. His mother died when he was a very small child and his father brought him and his two sisters to live with his father's mother, Ma Shaver [Martha Agnes Burnett Shaver]. When his father remarried, the children continued to live with Ma Shaver until they were grown. Olin served in the U S Army, World War II, attending agricultural school in Glasgow, Scotland. He also attended Mortician's school while employed at R J Coulter Funeral Home. He married Betty Gene Gregg on February 17, 1950; they had four children, Olin Gregory, Martha Dell, Ronald Edward and Barbara Jean Shaver.
