Dima Sparks Shaver Dima Sparks Shaver was the daughter of Allen Hayden "Hade" Sparks and Letha J. (Card) Sparks. Dima was born August 3, 1898 and died in childbirth(some older family members stated her pregnancy was twins) on March 23, 1926. She was married to John Hudson "Hud" Shaver prior to 1921. Hud gained his education at Rhea Central High School and Mountain City Business College, Chattanooga, TN. He worked all his life as a farmer in addition to retiring from the Stove Foundry, now known as Suburban Mfg Co. Hud also served in the U S Army during WW I. Dima Sparks Shaver and John Hudson Shaver had three living children: Kathryn Louise Shaver, born January 23, 1921, Rhea Co, TN married Percy Pegues, died October 27, 1979. Kathryn and Percy had three sons. Kathryn worked as a telephone operator on the switchboard at The Read House in Chattanooga, TN. Olin Lloyd Shaver born December 18, 1922, in Rhea Co, TN married Betty Gene Gregg February 17, 1950. He died September 29, 1992. He and Betty had four children. Olin was a farmer, soldier, and mortician. While a soldier in the U S Army in Europe during WW II, Olin attended agricultural school in Glasgow, Scotland. Mildred Lucille Shaver born July 25, 1925 in Rhea Co, TN married William Basil Raines, and at the date of this Memorial, she still survives, living among her family in Chattanooga, TN. Mildred and W B Raines had two sons. Mildred worked as a school secretary in Hamilton County Schools, Chattanooga , TN After Dima's death, Hud took his three small children to live with his mother, (Martha Agnes Burnett, known as Ma Shaver). When Hud later remarried, the children remained with Ma Shaver until they were grown. When anyone speaks of Dima Sparks Shaver it is with utmost respect and love.
