Bio

Audrey Donahew, 85, of Granbury, Texas, formerly of Elm Mott, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in Granbury. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Audrey was born in West, Texas, to the late Taylor and Louise (Miller) Duncan. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School, West High School and 4-C College in Waco, after which she went to work for Alamo Steel. On October 31, 1950 she was united in marriage to Bobby Joe Donahew in West. Audrey was also a secretary with Great Southwest Warehouses, retiring in 1978. They moved to Dallas in 1956, and remained there until 1985, when Bob retired from Sherwin Williams. They bought property and built a home in Elm Mott, where they remained until 2008. Audrey loved being a homemaker, along with gardening, reading, cooking, embroidery and bird watching. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Bob, of Granbury; daughter, Denise English, also of Granbury; granddaughter, Kristin Porter and husband, David, of Beaumont; great-granddaughter, Lilly Joeann Porter; sister, Lou Sullins, of Clifton; nieces, Lynda Svacek and husband, Paul, of Granbury, Cindy Crisler, of Whitney, Diane Gray and husband, Gary, of Waco, and Marianne Donahew, of Hillsboro; and many other relatives and friends.
