Bio

Mrs. Wm. Schrade at Rest Mrs. Wm. Schrade died April 15 1910 at 2:45 p.m. at the Nordrash Raoch [Nordrach Ranch] Sanatorium, Colorado Springs, Colorado of tuberculosis. Mary A Nelson was born in Wayne county, Pennsylvania April 3 1856 and with her parents moved to Iowa when about 11 years old and from there to Colfax county Nebraska and later to Hooper where she spent the last twenty-six years of her life. She was married to Wm. Schrade April 25th, 1882 at Schuyler Nebr. She had been a sufferer from tuberculosis for the past two years and about five weeks ago went to Colorado where it was hoped her health would be benefitted. On Monday, April 11th a telegram was sent to Mr. Schrade stating that there was no help for her. He went to Colorado Springs at once and was with his wife until the last and accompanied the remains home on Sunday. She leaves, besides a sorrowing husband, three brothers George, Edgar and Gregory Nelson and one sister Mrs. Rhoda Booth of Talo [Palo], Iowa all of whom were present at the funeral which took place from the M.E. Church Tuesday April 19th, 1910, Rev. Trump, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment in the Hooper Cemetery. Obituary from the Schrade Family collection, Jim Nugent who is the grandson of William Schrade's brother Edward Henry Schrade ______ According to the Rebecca & James Nelson family bible, Mary was born on April 3, 1855. The gravemarker and her obit have 1856.
