Hooper Sentinel May 10, 1888 James Nelson was born in Wayne County, Pa. April 7, 1815, and died May 7, 1888, aged 73 years and 1 month. At the age of 24, he united with the Baptist church and lived a conscientious Christian life to his death, and was regarded by all who knew him as an excellent neighbor. He was married to the wife who survives him 47 years ago last February and they have lived a quiet farm life ever since. This sad bereavement will make a great change in the affected widows' life. He also leaves three sons and two daughters to morn his death. A few years of his married life was spend in Iowa, but the last 16 years he lived in Nebraska, first on his farm in Colfax county and more recently on his farm near Hooper. The funeral services were conducted by Rev J Warner from the Presbyterian Church in the place, Tuesday afternoon and the body laid to rest in the Hooper cemetery. _____________________________ Fremont Weekly Herald May 17, 1888 James Nelson, living near Hooper, died a few days ago, aged 73. __________________ Children of James and Rebecca Nelson were: Dimmick Harvey Nelson (1845 - 1846) James Edgar Nelson (1850 - 1935) Harrison Gregory Nelson (1848 - 1924) Rhoda Delia Nelson Booth (1852 - 1933) Mary Addalade Nelson Schrade (1855 - 1910) Sarah Adaline Nelson (1859 - 1860) George Gordie Nelson (1863 - 1949)
