Henry G. Islakar, 87, of Lovington died 2:10 p.m. Wednesday (May 15, 2002) in St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington, with military rites. Memorials: Lovington American Legion Post 429 or Lovington First Church of God Youth Ministry. Mr. Islakar was born Nov. 24, 1914, in Lovington, the son of Karl and Kristina Islakar. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of God, Lovington, and Lovington American Legion Post 429. He married Mary Rhodes on Jan. 1, 1938. She preceded him in death June 29, 1992. Surviving are his son, Richard "Ricky" Islakar of Bethany; daughter, Kristina Wagahoft and husband Bill of Lovington; grandson, Michael Ryan Islakar and wife Barb of Tennessee; granddaughter, Michelle Brown and husband Miles of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Maryssa, Mariah and Mykaela Brown of Decatur.
