Mary Kristina Wagahoft, 78, of Decatur, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Eagle Ridge Assisted Living of Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Graceland Fairlawn, Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington, directly following the service. Dinner will be provided for family and friends at Northwest Christian Church after the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moultrie County Historical & Genealogical Society, 1303 South Hamilton Street, Sullivan, IL 61951. Mary Kristina Islakar was born July 13, 1944 in Decatur, IL. The daughter of Henry George Islakar and Mary (Rhodes) Islakar. She was a proud "1962" graduate of Lovington High School. She attended Richland Community College and earned her CNA certification. She married Bill Wagahoft on October 27, 1995 in Decatur. Kris retired from DMH. She was a member of the Moultrie County Historical & Genealogical Society in Sullivan, IL. Kris loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, classmates, and friends, and having God's presence in her heart. Kris also enjoyed Nascar, St. Louis Cardinals, Fighting Illini Basketball, CNN, family history, walking along the ocean shore, and collecting all her special treasures and trinkets. Kris is survived by her children, Michelle Ryan-Brown and Michael (Barb) Ryan; Grandchildren, Miranda, Maryssa, Mariah and Mykaela Brown, Stephen and Sean Ryan; Great Grandchildren, Kova Harris and Kaedyn Brown. She is also survived by her first husband, Tom (Patty) Ryan and children, Melissa and Samantha, and 2 step-daughters and 5 step-grandchildren from her second marriage to Bill Wagahoft Kris is preceded in death by her Parents; Brothers, Steve and Ricky Islakar; Husband, Bill Wagahoft; Great Granddaughter, Leilani Kristina Harris; Special Friend, Judy Bolduc. The family would like to thank Cancer Care of Decatur, IL, Traditions Hospice Care, and her friends and staff at Eagle Ridge.
