Mary Islakar, 77, of Decatur died 9:50 p.m. Monday (June 29, 1992) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington, with the Rev. Danny Roberts and the Rev. Larry Beebe officiating. Memorials: Decatur Memorial Hospital or South Shores Christian Church, Decatur. Mrs. Islakar was born in St. Louis, Mo., Jan. 12, 1915, the daughter of James W. and Luella Pearl Cazier Rhodes. She was a retired nurse's aide and had worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital and the Illinois Masonic Home. She was a member of Lovington Christian Church and South Shores Christian Church, Decatur. She married Henry George Islakar in 1938. She is survived by her husband; son, Richard G. 'Ricky' Islakar of Decatur; daughter, Mary Kristina Ryan of Decatur; grandson, Michael Ryan of Decatur; granddaughter, Michelle Ryan of Decatur; brothers, Noel Rhodes of Tucson, Ariz.; Wilson Rhodes of Sullivan; sister, Pearl Lee of Decatur; two grandchildren.
