Russell, 53, son of Winnie and Fred Russell, was born at Arcadia, Nebraska, on May 14, 1903, and passed away in Shelton, Washington, at the General Hospital on January 29, 1957, following a brief illness. The Russell family moved to Shelton in 1942 from Nebraska, where Ora had been manager of the Food Center stores in Arcadia, Fullerton, and Aurora. Ora had worked for Simpson Logging Company in Shelton, starting as an off-bearer at Sawmill One and became a log carriage setter in 1951. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Cruikshank Russell, and two daughters, Jean and Judy, all of Shelton, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Holmes, Olympia, Wash., Mrs. Alberta Lutz, Arcadia, Nebr., and Mrs. Winifred Widdowson, Gibbon, Nebr., and one brother, Mr. Dwain Russell of Bakersfield, Calif. Services were held Saturday afternoon, February 2nd, from Witsiers Funeral Home in Shelton, the Rev. J. Bernhard Bretheim of the Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Shelton Memorial Park Cemetery.
