Sybel Gilchrest Services Held Here Nov. 13 Services for Mrs. Sybel Mae Gilchrest,69, who died at 3:45 a.m. Monday in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Memphis Community Center. Rev. Robert E. Mikesell of the Jehovah Witness and Min. Jack ? of Hobbs, N.M., officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Mrs. Gilchrest, born Feb. 23, 1904 at Alvarado in Johnson County and moved to Hall County. She and her husband moved to Hedley in Donley County in 1955. The former Syble [sic] Mae Wood, she was married to Theodore H. Gilchrest in 1919 in Alvarado. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Mavis Freeman of Lubbock and Mrs. Betty Casteel of Amarillo, five sons, Howard of El Paso, Clifford W. of Memphis and Kenneth D., Ernest and Carroll R., All of Pasadena; three sisters, Mrs. Vicie Meadows of Cleburne, Mrs. Nannie Newsome of Memphis and Mrs. ? Fleck of Fort Worth; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Junior Gilchrest, Gordie Newsome, Lewis Freeman, L.N. Meadows, ? Gilchrest, Vernon Woodward, Davis and Earvin Brasfield.
