Bio

Thanks to Find a Grave member Carolyn Brinkmeyer for the following information: Rosenberg Herald, February 9, 1953: Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Maresh, age 61, were held from the chapel of the Triska Funeral Home at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29. Requiem mass was said at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 9 a.m., with Rev. J.J. Tydlacka officiating, assisted by Rev. Emil Vinklarek. Mrs. Maresh was born in Europe to Mr. and Mrs. John Barina. At the age of 12, she came with her parents to the United States, setting near Cistern, Texas. In 1912, she married Emil Maresh, and they continued to live there for 19 years when they moved to the Fairchilds community. After Mr. Maresh passed away in 1945, she continued making her home there. Survivors are sons, V.J. Maresh, Humble, Delphine Maresh, Ernest Maresh, Edwin Maresh, and Julius Maresh of Richmond, Jim Maresh of Houston, and Emil Maresh of Needville, Alex Maresh of Richmond; daughters, Mrs. Agnes Zgabay, Richmond, Mrs. Mary Zgabay of Boling, Mrs. Dorothy Lipinski of Richmond; 22 grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Barina of Guy and Vencil Barina of Smithville. Pallbearers were Charlie Zimmerhanzel, Paul Zimmerhanzel, Felix Janecka, Edward Vinklarek, Willie Svoboda, and Charlie Svoboda. Interment was made in the Holy Rosary Cemetery, with the Triska Funeral Home directing.
