Herald Coaster, October 31, 1996: Funeral services for Emil Maresh, Jr., 77, of Needville, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. George Kuebler of Immanuel United Church of Christ will officiate the services. Mr. Maresh was born on March 8, 1919 in Fort Bend County, and he passed away on Oct. 31, 1996 in Rosenberg. He was a member of the SPJST and the VFW in Needville, and he served in the U.S. Navy, USSO Bogue Aircraft Carrier, in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Katy Barina Maresh and Emil Maresh Sr.; his grandson, Clinton James Vacek; his brothers, Vencil and Ernest Maresh; and a sister, Agnes Zgabay. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gladys Graeber Maresh of Needville; his daughters, Carolyn Condel and her husband, Larry, of Sugar Land, Cynthia Herrin and her husband, John, of Needville, Milana Benton and her husband, Thomas, of Bryan, Sandra Zacek and her husband, Donald, of Needville, Bonnie Maresh of Sugar Land, Connie Sliva of Rosenberg, and Terry Drake of Richmond; his sons, Keith Marsh of Needville, Ronnie Maresh and his wife, Dorothy, of Rosenberg, Larry Maresh of Needville, Chris Maresh of Bryan, and Kem Maresh of Needville; his sisters, Mary Zgabay and her husband, Arnold, of Boling, Dorothy Lipinski and her husband, Jimmy, of Needville; his brothers, Jim Maresh and his wife, Millie, of Houston, Edwin Maresh and his wife, Doris, of Alvin, Julius Maresh and his wife, Emma, of Galina Park, Delphine Maresh of Beasley, and Alex Maresh and his wife, Mary Jo, of Richmond. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Carrie Condel Wright and Richard Wright, Wendy Condel, Jennifer and Jonathan Maresh, Jessica Jones, Lisa and Jeffrey Rainosek, Jason Herrin, Tiffany Benton Hopper and Adam Hopper, Eric and Scot Benton, Misty Maresh, Cheryl and Nathan Zacek, Lena and Christopher Maresh, Dustin and Derek Drake; and two great-grandchildren, Trace Hudson and Elyssa Wright. Friends may call after 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at Davis Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM-2218 and Hwy. 59) in Rosenberg.
