Bio

The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, August 7, 1947 Marion L. Buckles, son of James S. and Jennie Buckles, was born near Bostwick, Nebraska, on December 6, 1895, and departed this life at his home in Ruskin, Nebr., on August 2, 1947, at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 27 days. He lived with his parents on a farm near Bostwick, later near Superior, until the spring of 1939, when they moved to Ruskin, where he has since made his home. His father passed away two years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss, his mother, Mrs. J.S. Buckles of Ruskin, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Michaud of Superior and Mrs. Floyd Zeigler of Guide Rock, Nebr., three brothers, C.E. Buckles of Oak, Nebr., Ira of Washington state, and Guy of Vancouver, Wash., besides several uncles and aunts and 18 nieces and nephews. Marion had been in poor health since he was seven years of age and was taken seriously ill on July 31st and passed away two days later. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.W. Kennedy at the Klawitter funeral home in Nelson at 2:30 Monday afternoon. The Male Chorus of Nelson furnished the music, and burial occurred in the Superior cemetery.
