The West News, West, Texas, Volume 91, No. 38, Ed. 1, Thursday, September 24, 1981, page 5 Penelope News, by Mary Bruegger Mr. George Rejcek (56) of Dallas, formerly of Penelope, died suddenly of a heart attack Wednesday, Sept. 16. Rosary was at Aderhold's Funeral Chapel in West on Thursday. Funeral Services were at the Catholic Church of the Nativity BVM in Penelope at 10:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. Gilbert Barth officiating. Burial was at West. Survivors are his wife, five daughters and one son, thirteen grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Christine Rejcek of Penelope, five sisters and two brothers and many nieces and nephews. All, except three small grandchildren, were present at the services. Dinner was served at the Penelope Hall. Mrs. Earl Jones remembered him as one of her small pupils in school. I remembered him as someone my mother depended on to handle heavy work, such as cutting down a tree or cutting branches or repair work. Contributor: Betty Fajkus Marek (48445083)
