Bio
Edmund Joseph Rejcek, Sr., age 46, of 308 Bowie St., Mart, died Saturday, August 13, 1988, at 4:30 a.m. at the VA hospital in Dallas of cancer. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by the Rev. Isidore Rozycki. The Rev. Tim Gollub of Irving and Rev. John Molar of Penelope were co-celebrants at the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on August 16 at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope where he grew up. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Rejcek was born and raised in Penelope. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War from January 1964 to January 1966 and was employed for several years in the air conditioning industry until becoming a brakeman and then an engineer for MKT Railroad from 1978 to 1986. He was employed locally for the past one and a half years. He married Delores Trojacek of Ennis on June 24, 1967. Survivors include his mother, Christine Rejcek of Penelope; three sons, Edmund J. Rejcek, Jr., age 20, Christopher James Rejcek, age 17, of Mart, and Kevin Lee Rejcek, age 13, of Ennis; a daughter, Melissa Ann Rejcek, age 18, of Ennis; his wife, Delores Rejcek of Ennis; one brother, Lawrence Rejcek of Garland; five sisters, Lucille Kubala of Seymour, Wilma Kallus of Waco, Josephine Cervenka of Riesel, Bernice Gerik of San Antonio and Gerry Neslony of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his father, Valentine F. Rejcek, and two brothers, George Rejcek and Albert Rejcek. Pallbearers were nephews, Thomas Gerik, Randall Cervenka, Shawn Rejcek, Albert Rejcek, Jr., Stephen Kallus and Charles Kubala. All other pallbearers were honorary pallbearers.
