Albin Walla, 79, of Crowley, formerly of West, died Friday, October 6, 1989 at a Fort Worth hospital. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Walla was born February 19, 1910 in West. He lived in California for several years and had been a resident of Crowley for the past 15 years. He served in the Navy. He was an accountant and a Catholic. Survivors include a sister, Frances Sulak of Laredo; a brother, John Walla of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Harry Marak, William F. Pareya, Charles Hopkins, Harry Lichnovsky, Joe Walla and Alfred T. Hlavenka. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of the arrangements.
