Bio

Funeral services for John J. Urbanovsky of Corpus Christi were held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Assumption in West. Rev. Frank Urbanovsky officiated with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Urbanovsky died early last Sunday morning in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was a former West resident. He was 61. He was born in West and moved to Corpus Christi about 1938. He was a carpenter. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Corpus and a member of the KJT Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Urbanovsky; one son, Benny Edward Urbanovsky of Corpus Christi; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Mae Johnson of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Vera Griffin of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Joan Cochran; his mother, Mrs. Rozina Urbanovsky of Itasca; six brothers, Dan Urbanovsky of West, O. J. Urbanovsky of Fort Worth, Vinc Urbanovsky of Abbott, Rev. Frank Urbanovsky of Baytown, Joe K. Urbanovsky of Jarrell, Louis Urbanovsky of Whitesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Hajek of Fort Worth and Mrs. Rosie Divin of Itasca. Pallbearers were Albin Urbanovsky of Abbott, Danny Urbanovsky of West, Johnny Divin of Dallas, Leonard Urbanovsky and Victor Hajek, both of Fort Worth; and Eddy Urbanovsky, Louis Kocurek, and Frank Kocurek, all of Corpus Christi.
