A Rosary for Vera has been scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, Aug. 28 and the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Aug. 29 with both services in St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15501 S. Memorial Dr., Bixby, OK. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Veronica "Vera" Therese Griffin was born on Oct. 31, 1930 in Granger, TX to John Urbanovsky and Louise (Kubala) Urbanovsky. She peacefully passed from this life on Aug. 25, 2018 at her home in Bixby, OK at the age of 87 years, 9 months & 25 days. Vera had been a resident of the Bixby community since 1969. As a wife, mother of eight and grandmother to many, including those she "adopted", she was a very devoted homemaker to her family and was equally devoted to her faith. She was a beautiful example to everyone she met and will be deeply missed. She married John E. Griffin on Apr. 5, 1952 in Corpus Christi, TX and their marriage brought forth 8 children; Therese Maryoung and husband Vic, Janet Griffin, Michael Griffin and wife Becky, Jim Griffin and wife Mary, Paul Griffin and wife Debbie, Matthew Griffin and wife Diane, Daniel Griffin and wife Lisa and Bill Griffin whom preceded her in death. She is also survived by 1 sister; Ida Mae Johnson along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, church family and longtime friends. Casket bearers are Aaron Lee, Bryan Lee, Nicholas Pond, Collin Stansbarger, Carter Stansbarger, Matthew Griffin, Rob Griffin, John Griffin & Mike Griffin.
