Bio

: Henry P. Urban, age 82 of West, passed away January 20, 1999, in a Waco hospital. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. January 22 in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel by Deacon Buddy Shields. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. January 23 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Frank Miller as celebrant. Military Graveside services were conducted by V.F.W. Post #4819 of West, which followed in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mr. Urban was born April 17, 1916, near West and had lived in the West-Cottonwood area all of his life. He was a retired farmer and mechanic, a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He married Christine Picha on May 8, 1944, in West. He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel on October 15, 1996. Survivors include his wife, Christine; one son, Henry C. Urban of Tolar, Texas; three daughters, Barbara Chudej and Rose Owe3n of West and Doris Hewlett of Ross; one brother, Willie Urban of Bellmead; two sisters, Millie Rejcek of Waco and Mary Rejcek of Covington; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Ted Kostohryz, Edward Soukup, Stanley Slovak, Milton Peterson, Anthony Urban and Benny Urban Jr. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons and members of V.F.W. Post #4819.
