Charlie Sykora Dies In Waco Charlie Sykora, 89, of 820 Jackson, Waco, a native of Czechoslovakia, died Saturday afternoon in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in Bellmead. Requiem Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead with Rev. Joe Zonates as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Sykora was born in Czechoslovakia and lived in Fayette County and in West before moving to Waco in 1932. He operated the Katy Hotel in Waco. He was a member of the SPJST Lodge No. 6 at Cottonwood. Survivors include four sons, C.V. Sykora, John A. Sykora, Stanley Sykora, all of Waco and Edward T. Sykora of Fort Worth; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Kucera of Corpus Christi; 18 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were members of SPJST Lodge No. 6: Arnold Kasberg, Jr., Albin Schuetz, Willie Helona, Frankie Lee Uptmore, Jr., George Straten, Jr., and Rudolph Krizan, all of West.
