Westites' Kin Dies in Bishop Mrs. Hattie Nemecek Piehl, 64, of Bishop died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday in a Kingsville hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, Rev. Earl Hedberg was celebrant; burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, at West. Mrs. Piehl was born in West. She lived in Bishop the last 25 years. She was secretary at the Champlin Petroleum Co. in Bishop. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Bishop. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Rudolph Nemecek of West; two brothers, Alfred Nemecek of McAllen and Joseph H. Nemecek of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Mrs. L. J. (Mamie) Urbanovsky and Mrs. Ed H. (Rudie) Grimm, both of West, and Mrs. Fred (Georgia) Cocek of Bishop and several nieces and nephews. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Edward Archer, Clifford Archer, Dalton Tynes, Clarence Talley, Jr., Jimmy Kolacek and Joe Ed Grimm.
