Bio

Agnes (Snapka) Mynar, age 78 of Abbott, passed away early Thursday morning, September 19, 1996 at West Community Hospital. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. September 20 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reinhard Sternemann. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. September 21 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott with Rev. Reinhard Sternemann as Celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mrs. Mynar was born October 2, 1917 in Penelope, the daughter of Gabriel and Annie Snapka. She married Joe Mynar on November 10, 1936 in West. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of American #829, S.P.J.S.T. #54 in West and Quilters for Christ in Abbott. She was also a member of Abbott Altar Society and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She is survived by her husband, Joe Mynar of Abbott; five sons, Alvin Mynar of Austin, William Mynar of Carrollton, Joe Lynn Mynar of Waxahachie, Patrick Mynar of Waco and Fred Mynar of Martindale; six daughters, Evelyn Derrick of Coppell, Martha McCaslin of Roanoke, Helen Grellhesl and Cindy Grones of Waco, Virginia Mynar of Dallas and Carol Mynar of West; five sisters, Betty Beseda of Irving, Elnora Uptmore of West, Annie Sustala of Fort Worth, Frances Krenek of Chico, California and Josephine Darelik of Westover; one aunt, Betty Zapalac of Abbott; one uncle, Floyd Smajstrala of Hillsboro; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tommy Straten, Brian Mynar, Charlie Pavlas, Victor Pavlas, Jr., George Mikuda and Jerry Sustala. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
