Bio

WEST – Former Hill County resident Gabriel Steve Snapka died at 9:30 a.m. Monday at his home in Fort Worth. He was 68. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Abbott. Rev. W. Pechal will officiate with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Penelope. Mr. Snapka was born in Czechoslovakia. He had lived in Hill County most of his life, moving to Fort Worth less than a year ago. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Catholic church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Henry Snapka of Dallas and Victor Snapka of Irving; seven daughters, Mrs. Lillie Pavlas of Abbott, Mrs. Betty Beseda of Irving, Mrs. Agnes Mynar of Abbott, Mrs. Annie Sastala [Sustala] of Fort Worth, Mrs. Elnora Wilde of West, Mrs. Frances Krenik [Krenek] of Hamilton City, Calif., and Mrs. Josephine Darlick [as printed] of Seymour; two brothers, Emil Snapka of Graford and Edward Snapka of Penelope; 31 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
