Lodge No. 6, Cottonwood Bro. John Marek, 71, of West, died in a Hillsboro Hospital on Sunday, January 26. ...This brother was a retired farmer. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Rev. George Doskocil officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Rosary was recited in Czech at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. He was a member of KJT Lodge No. 31, and the SPJST Lodge No. 6 of Cottonwood. He was a veteran of World War I. His wife died June 26, 1968. Survivors include one son , Raymond Marek of San Antonio; one sister, Mrs. Albina Parma of West, and two grandchildren. May our departed brother rest in eternal peace.
