Requiem Mass To Be Friday For Mrs. Makovy Mrs. Bettie Makovy, 84, of Route 2, Abbott, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a Hillsboro hospital. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. (today) Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Makovy was born in Czechoslovakia. She had lived in West for 74 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption and the Altar-Rosary Society. Her husband, John H. Makovy died in April, 1962. Survivors are three sons, John Makovy, Charlie Makovy and Louis Makovy, all of West; two daughters, Mrs. R.D. (Lillian) Canaday of Waco, and Mrs. Joe (Olga) Whitney of Dallas; 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers are Frank Losak of Bellmead, Ernie Makovy, Leo Makovy, Frank Prnka and Charlie Blahuta, all of West and Pete Bezdek of Waco.
