Mrs. V. J. (Grace) Hynek, 94, of West died Sunday, July 7, 1985 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited Monday, July 8 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Msgr. B.J. Zientek as celebrant. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Mrs. Hynek was born June 20, 1891 in McLennan County. She lived in the West area all her life and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was married to V.J. Hynek on October 27, 1914, in West. He died in 1972. Survivors include two sons, Joe Hynek of Abbott and John Hynek of Penelope; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Polansky and Mrs. Elo (Hattie) Svrcek, both of West, and Mrs. Henry (Christine) Beseda of Penelope; a sister, Philomena Marek of West; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
