Mary A. Polansky, age 83 of West, passed away Monday morning, October 15, 2001 in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Father Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family received visitors from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Polansky was born November 1, 1917 near West and had lived in the West area all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11. She married Frank J. Polansky on July 23, 1935 in West. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1981. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Hynek. Survivors include four sons, Frank J. Polansky, Jr., John C. Polansky and his wife, Nancy, Raymond Polansky and his wife, Nachelle, and Jimmy Polansky, all of West; two daughters, Mary Pustejovsky and her husband, Johnnie of Abbott and Agnes Kostroun and her husband, Jerry of Cameron; one brother, John Hynek of Penelope; two sisters, Hattie Svrcek of West and Christine Beseda of Penelope; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
