V.J. Hynek, 86, Dies; Rites Held Thursday V.J. Hynek, 86, of West, died Tuesday afternoon in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Requiem mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Rev. Earl Hedberg , celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Hynek was born in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States with his parents at the age of 6, settling in Industry. He had lived in the West area 58 years. He married the former Miss Theresa Marek on Oct. 19, 1914, in West. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Hynek of Abbott, and John Hynek of Penelope; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Polansky and Mrs. Elo (Hattie) Svrcek, both of Route 2, West, and Mrs. Henry (Christine) Beseda of Penelope; a brother, Joe Hynek of Waco; a sister, Mrs. Charlie (Mary) Young of Waco; 29 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Frankie Polansky, Johnnie Polansky, Henry Svrcek, Raymond Lenart, William Kaluza and Charles Beseda.
