Joe R. Marek, 78, Dies; Rites Held Thursday Joe R. Marek, 78, of Route 1, Abbott, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home. Requiem mass was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at Abbott with Rev. W. Pechal as celebrant. Burial followed in Fatima Cemetery at Abbott. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in he Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mr. Marek was born near Tours and had lived in the Abbott area the past 50 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at Abbott, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305 of West. Survivors include his wife, Millie Marek; two sons, Albin Marek and Alphonse D Marek, both of Route 1, Abbott; one brother, John T. Marek of Albuquerque, N.M.; four sisters, Ms. Leo Ruzicka of Morton, Mrs. Theresa Hynek and Miss Philomena Marek, both of West, and Mrs. Anna Pavlicek of Tours; three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe Hynek, Joe Mach of Abbott, Joe Marek of Penelope, Dan Pustejovsky of Hillsboro, Wesley Kolar of Waco, Albin Pavlicek of Tours.
