Ed H. Grimm, a retired West Businessman, passed away Saturday night, June 12, 1993 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited by Tillie Dvoracek and Tracy Morse, at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West, with Msgr. Mark Deering as Celebrant. Military graveside services followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West, conducted by the Naval Air Station of Dallas. Mr. Grimm was born October 11, 1909 in Tours and lived in West since 1948. He joined the U.S, Navy in 1926 serving for several years as a member of the Yangtze River Patrol in China. He retired from the Navy after 22 years of service. He married Rudie Nemecek Williams in 1948. He attended Baylor University for two years prior to founding the Grimm Insurance Agency in West in 1955. He served as Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 3 in McLennan County for 15 years. Mr. Grimm was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305 of West, the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Monsignor J.J. Kearns Assemble No. 1109 of Waco, the West V.F.W. Post 4819, the Fleet Reserve Association and American Legion Post No. 475 of West, and a retired member of the West Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of West. He was preceded in death by twin sons. He is survived by his wife, Rudie and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Clifford Archer, Edward R. Archer, Joe Edd Grimm, Alfred Nemecek, Freddie Cocek, Anthony Cocek, Pat Grimm and Ed Mashek, Jr. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
