Bio

Mrs. Joseph Bruckner [1967] Humphrey, NE ---- Funeral services were held Sept. 6 at St. Francis Catholic Church here for Mrs. Joseph (Mary Elizabeth) Bruckner, 85, Humphrey, who died Sept. 3, 1967 at Pierce manor Nursing Home. Msgr. Nicholas Wegener of Boys Town, a cousin, officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Dorian Widhalm, Gilbert Fuchs, William Crumley, David and Ronald Nykodym and Douglas Carson. Born at St. Bernard, Oct. 24, 1881, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wegener. She married Joseph Bruckner Jan. 11, 1910 at Sacred Heart Church in Cornlea and lived all her life in Platte County near Humphrey. Surviving are three sons, John, Lawrence and Joseph Jr., all of Humphrey; six daughters, Mrs. Ed (Adeline) Widhalm and Mrs. Mike (Elizabeth) Fuchs of Norfolk, Mrs. George (Clara) Groteluschen of Ludden, S. D., Mrs. Howard (Mary) Carson of Crete, Mrs. Frank (Rosella) Nykodym of Madison and Mrs. Loren (Elsie) Crumley of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Anton Blake of McHenry, ILL; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, seven brothers and her parents.
