Bio
Magdalena Blake, 88, a resident since the early 1920s, died Thursday Feb. 25, 1988 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. The daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Sands) Wegener, she was born Feb. 27, 1889, in Humphrey, Neb. She married Anton F. Blake, who died Aug. 6, 1974. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, McHenry, and a honorary member of its Ladies Guild, also a member of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters St. Clara's Court 659, the Christian Mothers of St. Mary's and a former employee of John Vycital Hardware Store, Green Street. Mrs. Blake is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Louis) Piagentini of Round Lake, three sons, Robert P. (Rosemary) Blake and Raymond A. (Doris) Blake both of McHenry and Donald J. (Nancy) Blake of Johnsburg; 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A sister, Mary Bruckner; and seven brothers, Herman, Tony, Den, John, Henry, George and Joseph Wegener; preceded her in death. Friends may call Sunday after 3 p.m. at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, McHenry. The Rev. James McKitrick of St. Patrick's Catholic Church will be the celebrant for the 1 p.m. funeral mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, McHenry. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, McHenry.
