Maggie was the daughter of George Washington Wright Jr. and Theodosia Caladona Peed Wright. She was the wife of Cicero Cyril Hobbs. - - - February 9, 1951 Funeral Held Monday For Mrs, C,C, Hobbs, Beloved Richlandite Mrs. C.C. Hobbs, 74, prominent and beloved Christian mother, of Richland, passed away at 8:30 o'clock Friday evening following an illness of about 48 hours. After becoming ill on Wednesday, she was admitted to the hospital in Richland where medical care and every attention proved to no avail. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Richland Methodist Church with the Rev. J.N. Reid, pastor, assisted by Dr. J. T. Phillips, pastor of the Richland Baptist church, officiating. A local choir sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden", with Mrs. E. C. Turner as accompanist. Beautiful flowers in artistic arrangement testified to the love and esteem held for the deceased and her family. Interment was in the Harmony cemetery.Pall bearers were her sons, and son-in-law, Adrian Anglin. Mrs. Hobbs was the former Miss Maggie Edna Wright. She was born September 23, 1877 in Franklin County, Texas, the daughter of the late George Washington and Theodocia Peed Wright. Her parents came to Louvale to reside when their daughter was small and here is where she spent most of her life. On May 21, 1898, she married Cicero C. Hobbs of Louvale and the couple made their home there for many hears. With their family, they later removed to Richland, where Mr. Hobbs operated a grocery business. They were numbered among this section's most highly respected and esteemed citizens. After her husband's death in June of 1941, Mrs. Hobbs continued her residence in Richland until some two years ago when she went to live with her sons in Tennessee and Texas. She returned to Richland last summer and was residing in an apartment in the home of Mrs. Ola Bartlett. Mrs. Hobbs was a devout member of the Richland Methodist church and an ever faithful student to the early teachings of her religious heritage. She was a liberal contributor to the causes of Christianity, and to the principles that stood for goodness and purity. Mrs. Hobbs was industrious in her home and always consistent in her efforts to put first things first. Her aims and ideals were high; and her hopes and ambitions for those she loved were boundless. In a large measure, surely her dreams were realized in the achievements and successes of her fine children.The beauty of her character and personality reflected the attributes of a Great Lady, she she was adored by numerous friends who are deeply grieved to know that her cheery smiles and greetings are forever stilled. The survivors include five sons, George H. Hobbs and Blanchard Hobbs of Nashville, Tenn.; Rodolph and Franklin Hobbs of El Paso, Texas; and Percy Hobbs of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Adrian Anglin of Lumpkin; one brother, G. W. Wright of Orlando, Fla.; two half-brothers, Gordon and Leslie Perryman of Orlando, and one half-sister, Mrs. Clifford Peek of Gary, Indiana, also 10 grandchildren.
