Obit - Published in unknown paper but provided by Glen Rose Funeral Home. Nov. 23, 1939 G. W. Wilson, 86 Buried Friday At Lanham Mill G. W. Wilson, 86 years old, pioneer resident and one of the best known citizens of this part of Texas, died at the old family farm home in the Lanham Mill community Thursday afternoon, November 23. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. A. Stevenson Baptist minister of Glen Rose, and burial was in the Lanham Mill cemetery under direction of Glen Rose Funeral Home. The pallbearers were H. I. Bradley, Claude Jones, Jack Gosdin, Clyde Shook, Olan Shook and Raymon Lanham. Mr. Wilson had been seriously ill for two weeks and had been in bad health many months. He was born in Union County, Georgia June 9, 1853 and resided in Somervell county forty years, where he reared a large family. He was the father of 18 children, fifteen of whom survive him. And there are 58 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha Wilson and the following children: Mrs. Ed May, Lubbock; Mrs. John Tidwell, Bonham; Mrs. Lula Sullivan, Ruidosa, New Mexico; Mrs. Clark Garrett, Leveland; V. M. Wilson, Glen Rost; Mrs. Newt Swaim, Tolar; W. F. Weaks, of Dunnigan community; J. D. Wilson, Lanham Mill; Lee Wilson, Paluxy; Gus Wilson, Paluxy; Mrs. Andy Woods, Arlington; Mrs. Lonnie Weaks of Dunnigan Community; Mrs. Herman Daniels;, Lanham Mill; Mrs. Binnum Shook and Mrs. Ed West, both of Lanham Mill. A great crowd of friends and neighbors attended the funeral and there were many beautiful floral tributes banked about the gasket.
