Bio

Born. January 29, 1875 in Marion Co., Iowa, just east of Pella, known as the Bethal Church area. She married Ely Milan Wood, of Monroe, Iowa, February 1, 1893, at the home of her father, James W. George in Sully. Ely Milan Wood was b. in a log house of the Tool's chapel community, January 25th, 1868. He was one of eleven children of Wesley and Nancy Ann (Gant) Wood, in Monroe, Iowa. Wesley Wood was b. October 7, 1829 in Ohio, d. June 5, 1915. Nancy was b. October 15, 1836 also in Ohio, she d. April 25, 1922. Ida and Ely, raised their large family on a farm in the Jasper co. area, and moved to Monroe at the time of their retirement. Ely Wood d., November 21, 1943, and Ida Belle d. at age 82, November 8, 1957. Both buried at Fairview cemetery, East of Monroe, Jasper Co., Iowa.
