Bio

Clarence Wood, 40, Monroe, Jasper county rural mail carrier, died Tuesday at 4:45 a.m. at the Skiff Memorial hospital, where he had been a patient since Nov. 26. Mr. Wood was first taken ill with perforated ulcers, and his illness was complicated by two successive attacks of pneumonia and by empyema. Surviving relatives include two children, a married daughter, Frances, living in Des Moines, and a son, Dean, of Newton; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Wood of Monroe; two brothers, Dale Wood of Newton and Bert Wood of Reasoner, and four sisters, Mrs. Frank Gunsaulus of Newton, Mrs. Jake Dingeman and Mrs. Harold Sellers of Monroe, and Mrs. Ray Brodersen of south of Newton. Mr. Wood's wife, Mrs. Mary Wood, is connected with the Maytag Beauty shop in Newton. No funeral arrangements have been made.
