Mrs. Marie Floyd, wife of Ernest O. Floyd of Chama, N. M., formerly of Salida, died In the Alamosa hospital at 6:45 o'clock Sunday morning. She had started for Salida on a special train on Feb. 23, to receive medical treatment but became so ill at Alamosa that it was necessary to take her off the train. Death was due to blood poisoning. The body was brought to Salida and the funeral will be held from the Catholic church to Fairview cemetery at 9 o'clock tomorrow. Mrs. Floyd was the daughter of S. W. Vail of Salida. She was born in Denver, Dec. 6, 1884, and removed to this city with her parents. She graduated from Salida high school and then attended the State Teachers College at Greeley, but owing to the death of her mother she returned home before graduation. She was married Sept. 13, 1906, to Mr. Floyd, a machinist, the wedding ceremony being performed in Grand Junction. Mr. .Floyd is employed in the machine shops at Chama. Mrs. Floyd was a member of the Women of Woodcraft of Salida, and this organization will attend the funeral in a body. She also was a member of the Chama lodge of the Fraternal Brotherhood. She was taken ill three weeks ago. Her sister, Mrs. E. J. Roblsch, and Mrs. Anna McMillan of Salida, and Mr. Floyd were at her bedside when she died. Mrs. Floyd also is survived by her father, a third sister, Miss Geraldine Vail, four brothers, Wallace Vail of San Francisco, H. E. Vail of Ogden, Leo Vail of Salt Lake City, Stephen Vail of Salt Lake City, and by four children, all under 7 years of age.
