License issued Oct. 1. ======================== The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, October 23, 1958; pg. 4 Mr. George Rempe and Miss Anna Schutte two of St. Stephens prominent young people were married at church Tuesday Oct. 20, Rev. Father Hahn officiating. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schutte, and in the evening the young folks enjoyed a dance given by the groom. ===================== Anna Rempe passed away on Tuesday, February 11, and funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church in Nelson with Father John Pracher officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrence Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home, Nelson, will be in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, February 13, 1975 ====================== Anna Marie Rempe, one of 11 children of Herman Schutte and Mary Grabenschroer, was born near St. Stephens, Nebraska on December 26, 1890. All of her life was spent in the St. Stephens - Nelson communities. She was married to Joseph Rempe to which 3 children were born. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died on July 27, 1957; one son; one brother and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Blanche) Zeigler of Beatrice, Nebraska; her son, George E. Rempe, Sr. of Lawrence, Nebraska; 6 sisters, Minnie Kimminau of Hastings; Kate Rempe of Central City, Johanna Sughrue of Indianola, Mrs. Louise Tramp of Cambridge, Mrs. Mary Kohmetcher of McCook and Mrs. Lucille Spalding of Benkelman; one brother, Joe Schutte of Sterling, Colorado; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Anna passed away on February 11, 1975 in the Menonite Hospital at Beatrice, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 15 days. Rosary services were held from the Klawitter Funeral Home in Nelson on Thursday evening, February 13th. Funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nelson on Friday, February 14th. Father John Pracher officiated. Casket bearers were George Rempe, Jr., Daniel Rempe, Al Rempe, Art Rempe, Leonard Rempe and Ed Rempe. Music was provided by the church choir with Mary Mazour organist. Mr. Kenneth Brockman served as commentator at the Mass. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Lawrence Nebraska. The Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements. Anna, the widow, married George's brother Joseph H. Rempe.
