Charlie Julius Wendland, Jr. Charlie Julius Wendland, Jr., 95, lifetime resident of the Taylor and Hutto area passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009 in a Temple hospital. He was born on February 9, 1914 in Hutto, Texas the son of Carl and Emma (Eulenfeld) Wendland. On November 21, 1937 he married Mildred Mills. Charlie was a farmer/rancher all his life. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, and a board member of the Jonah Co-Op Gin. Charlie was a self taught musician. He played violin for local house dances, school functions, and played with J.E. Moore at the Bartlett Opera Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Donald Wendland, four sisters, three brothers, and a granddaughter, Ronna Randig. Charlie is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mildred Wendland of Taylor; son, Morgan Wendland and wife Teresa of Taylor; daughter, Juneva Randig and husband Kenneth of Taylor; brother, Gilbert Wendland of Taylor; daughter-in-law, Susan Wendland of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Retta Hill and husband Joe, Robert Randig and wife Lori, Rex Wendland, Sheri Wendland, Teri Adams and husband John Clement, and Ran Wendland; six great-grandchildren, Joseph and Michael Hill, Peyton and Parker Randig, Sol and Francesca Clement. Serving as pallbearers will be Rex Wendland, Ran Wendland, Robert Randig, Joe Hill, John Clement, and Alfred Wendland Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Wallin, Bobby Eulenfeld, and Gary Beran. Memorials may be given to The St. Paul Lutheran Church Music Fund, and the Immanuel Lutheran Church West Taylor Cemetery Fund. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 4, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Condra Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Veit and Rev. Walter J. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, West Taylor. Condra Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
