Bio

Leo A. Klimitchek, age 68, of West, passed away late Wednesday evening, March 31, 1993 at West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. John Molnar as celebrant. Military graveside rites followed at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. A rosary was recited 7:30 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mr. Klimitchek was born November 21, 1924 in West, the son of Paul and Millie Klimitchek. He married Margarette Svacina on April 24, 1950. She preceded him in death on November 5, 1955. He then married Mary Klanika on August 28, 1972 in Bellmead. He was a farmer for most of his life, before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the K.J.T Society No. 31 in West; a member of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 66 in Elm Mott; and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Mr. Klimitchec served his county with the United States Army during World War II. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4819 and the American Legion Post No. 478, both in West and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Mary Klimitchek of West; one daughter, Marie Dulak of West Columbia; one step-daughter, Evelyn Stuckly of West; one brother, Fred Klimitchek of West; two sisters, Stasie Cihlar of West and Willie Mae Podsednik of Elm Mott; five grandchildren; and several niece and nephews. Memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Building Fund. Aderhold Funeral Home in West is in charge of arrangement.
