Bio

Died Suddenly Gerhardt Ostdiek, aged 34 years, died at the home of his father-in-law, John Hoelting, Sr., last Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. after an illness of a delirious nature which took hold of him three days before. His death came as a great shock to the community, as none of us knew his condition was even considered serious. Gerhardt was a free-hearted soul who spent his money with an open hand often to his own detriment and financial loss. A wife with two little daughters, aged 3 and 6 years, survive the deceased of his own family. Besides these his mother, two brothers and four sisters all residents of St. Stephens precinct mourn deeply the untimely death of son and brother. Funeral services were held at St. Stephens Tuesday morning. With their numerous friends we desire to join in extending sympathy to the bereaved.
