C. J. Jerome Karnik - Obituary - Funeral Here Tuesday For Dr. Karnik, 77 - Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from Saint Patrick's Church for Jerome S. Karnik, 77, who died Saturday evening at Memorial Hospital. Rev. Vincent Pelster officiated at the 9 a.m. rites and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. The Gehrig and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Lester Stecher, Joseph A. Tresnak, Joseph E. Stecher, J. B. Ruttner, Joe Kubes and William Wolf. Dr. Karnik was born May 7, 1883, near Dodge, a son of Frank and Barbara Pronek Karnik. He was married May 4, 1909, at Clyde, Neb., to Rosalie Stecher. A graduate veterinarian, he practiced in Dodge for 37 years before moving to Sidney in 1945. He had farming interests in the north Potter area since 1917. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leon and Allen, both of Sidney; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Stanley Hruby, of Omaha, and one brother, Anton, of Dodge.
