Allen Karnik, 90 of Sidney, Nebraska died early Thursday evening, October 7, 2010 at the Memorial Health Center, Extended Care in Sidney. Allen Frank Karnik, the son of Jerome and Rosalie (Stecher) Karnik was born September 5, 1920 at Dodge, Nebraska. On February 5, 1940 he was united in marriage to Rose Marie Tresnak at Dodge. They moved to a farm north of Potter in the early 1940's. Allen spent most of his life farming. He also was a Sales Manager at the Egging Cab Company and sold real estate. He was a pilot that flew his own plane. Allen and Rose Marie had a winter home in Mesa, Arizona where they enjoyed many winters with their friends. They enjoyed traveling, golf and dancing. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Rose Marie of Sidney, NE; his son Gary Karnik of Ft. Collins, CO; his daughter Judy Paulson of Clovis, CA; 5 Grandchildren and 11 Great, grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons who died in infancy.
