Laurel Leader Call 20040122 Joe Rose, 69, of Laurel died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. He was retired from Wayne Ford where he had been an automobile salesman. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Ruthie Rose; two brothers, James Earl Rose and Daniel W. Rose. Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Mary M. Rose, of Laurel; two daughters, Brenda Rowell of Laurel, and Betsy Patterson of Ellisville; three brothers, Tommy Rose, Willis (Buddy) Rose, both of Ellisville, and Martin Rose of Lafayette, La.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Donna Bustin of Petal. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. The body will be placed in the sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church (Jones County) at 2:30 p.m. Friday with funeral services beginning at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Walters Cemetery in Ellisville with the Rev. Steve Mixon officiating. Pallbearers are Ken Rayner, Richard Ward, Johnny McNeer, L. D. Stewart, Pete Rose, and Sam Stewart. Bobby Harrison will serve as honorary pallbearer. Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Laurel, is in charge of arrangements.
