Charles William Cooper Sr. Charles William "Big Daddy" Cooper Sr., 78, died Friday, May 22, 2009. Cooper was a native and resident of Rosinton and had retired from Monsanto. He was co-owner of Charles W. Cooper & Co. in Loxley and had served in the U.S. Army. He loved to hunt and fish, his family said. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cooper of Rosinton; a son, Andrew Cooper of Madisonville, La.; four sisters, Juanita Freeman, Joyce Ludke and Martha Loper, all of Robertsdale, and Carolyn Childress of Foley; two brothers, Gail Cooper and Robert Cooper, both of Rosinton; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Robertsdale. The Rev. William James will officiate and burial will follow at Old Cooper Cemetery in Rosinton. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Patrick's Church or School, P.O. Box 1367, Robertsdale, AL 36567 or Covenant Hospice, 1040 Stanton Road, Suite D, Daphne, AL 36526. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory.
