Lionel Charles Snider, 52, of Lake Charles, La., formerly of Waco, died Friday at a Lake Charles hospital. Graveside services were held Monday at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, La., the Rev. Fred Reed officiating. Mr. Snider was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Waco. He had lived in Lake Charles the past six years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Snider was a former service manager for Montgomery Ward. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans in Waco. He was an instructor at Fowlea Tech in Lake Charles. Survivors include two sons, Charles Joseph Snider of Westlake and William Harold Snider of Waco; a daughter, Sandra Kay Schilfer of Colorado City; two brothers, Bill Snider of Baton Rouge, La., and Robert Snider of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Doris Kienitz of Waco; and five grandchildren.
